Yesterday, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met with Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu to discuss the U.S.- Türkiye bilateral relationship including cooperation and support for the humanitarian and economic crisis in Türkiye. The Deputy Secretary updated the Deputy Minister on the Department’s response to the February 6 earthquakes which caused more than 50,000 deaths. Deputy Secretary Graves affirmed Commerce will continue to support Türkiye’s recovery and reconstruction including connecting the Turkish government with U.S. goods and services to rebuild and sending a delegation from Commerce’s International Trade Administration to Istanbul later this month to further explore public-private sector cooperation and support.
