This year a series of five online auctions will be held, accessible to all, with a record number of over 300 collectibles carefully selected by Catawiki‘s motorsport experts. These include items from past and current F1 team seasons along with these from both Scuderia Toro Rosso and Scuderia Alpha Tauri. Auction items will include a variety of auto parts, including wheel nuts, flaps, front and rear wings, to drivers’ racing gear, helmets and pit suits, as well as mock-ups of actual race cars, which have been done competing in the Formula 1 World Championship.
Through these auctions, Scuderia AlphaTauri and Catawiki aim to bring the exclusive charm of Formula 1 to its fans. Scuderia AlphaTauri has long been a training ground for some of F1’s most famous drivers, making it a natural gateway to the world of F1. And with over 75,000 items up for auction every week and millions of buyers from around the world, Catawiki is the ideal partner for finding lucky new owners for these incredible items. The rapid growth and popularity of Formula 1 goes hand in hand with a growing market for its collectibles. Demand for iconic sporting memorabilia has more than doubled on Catawiki since 2019, thanks to the spectacle that is the sport of F1 finding its way into more people’s homes over the seasons.
The STR11 is the highlight of the first online auction; the same car that ran in the 2016 season when Scuderia Toro Rosso scored 63 points thanks to the successes of its drivers Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat. Jos Pirkner’s painted bull on the engine cover was the first of its kind seen in any F1 style, giving the car an artistic and dynamic look. Fans of the two current Scuderia AlphaTauri drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, and former drivers such as Sebastian Vettel, Pierre Gasly, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz are also in for a treat. Theirs driver kitsboth signed and unsigned, are up for bid, along with Verstappen’s worn-out 2016 kit. It has first online auction it is now open for bidding Catawiki. Future auctions will take place in August, September, November and December this year, and fans can expect online auctions as well as physical events. The Catawiki logo will be visible on the outer Halo of Yuki and Nyck’s AT04 for the Austrian and Dutch Grand Prix.

The first 70 objects are now up for auction and fans can submit their bids until July 12, 2023. Part of the proceeds from the first auction will go to the relief aid operation by Faenza City Council to support those affected by the floods and heavy rains in May this year. Part of the proceeds from subsequent auctions will go to the non-profit foundation Wings for life, which is dedicated to spinal cord injury research.
